Membership Financial Assistance PDF Print E-mail

Because we believe that everyone deserves the YMCA, our Open Door policy ensures affordable access to all YMCA programs for hundreds of children, youth and families each year. Confidential financial assistance is available to anyone who cannot afford to pay the full membership fee.

How to Apply for Assistance

New Applicants

  1. Participate in a facility tour and receive facility information.
  2. Complete the application, providing all required documentation. The financial assistance rates are assessed on basic needs. Include receipts for the items listed. If you are living with someone and sharing expenses, we need documentation confirming total household income. Documentation confirming your income would include wage stubs, child tax benefits, government receipts, bank statements, and/or a letter from your employer. Please provide documents for the past two months. (We will not be able to process incomplete applications.)
  3. Bring your application and receipts to the Welcome Desk and ask for one of the Membership Service Supervisors. Your interview will be conducted at this time to determine the amount of assistance you require.

Renewing Applicants

The aim of the Membership Assistance Program is to assist those who are unable to pay the full membership or program fee. In the case of memberships, our goal is to have members contribute more financially towards it each time they renew.

We recommend that you come in to renew your membership, providing current documentation, at least two weeks before your membership expires, so that we can provide continuous service to you.
